    Description

HK-325, Official Medal of the 1905 Lewis & Clark Exposition in Portland, OR, struck in Silver.  Almost Uncirculated, certified NGC AU-53. This spent a mercifully short period of time as a pocket piece before being set aside, leaving the surfaces largely unaffected.  Original, which is unusual for a circulated HK-325.  Almost all circulated specimens I encounter in Oregon are impaired to some degree, usually cleaned leaving obnoxious hairlines (non on this piece).  Also catalogued as SH 14-1 in Jeff Shevlin's new text on West Coast Exposition medals, where valued at 5 in AU-50, 0 in MS-60.
